embryonic website
This publicity business gets time-consuming even if you're only doing the minimum. I bought a domain for my future website, and then decided to put up a bare bones page, so the domain could start registering on search engines, with the idea that by the time the book is actually listed for sale, searchers can find me at victoriajanssen.com.
My domain purchase meant I got a free bare bones hosting service, exactly what I needed. Except, apparently I shouldn't have done my own HTML coding. The free hosting service was set up for people who didn't know HTML, and I actually had a lot of trouble figuring out how to make my codes work with their system. I spent a whole afternoon on this, and ended up with something that wasn't perfect, but at least had my keyword codes. I'm going to leave it alone for now, as I need to get back to writing!
I hosted my writers' group on Saturday, and drank red sparkling wine to celebrate some of our members being on an award ballot. Sunday, I wrote. Only 77,000 words to go!
