more research
The book I'm carrying around today is Tommy, by Richard Holmes. It's all about British soldiers on the Western front during World War One. I'm hoping to get a lot of useful little details about life in the trenches and in the army, as well as start sparking more ideas because the writing is going slowly right now.

This has been my pattern before; I periodically return to my research books, to see if I can spark off new ideas. It seems to work. I'd like to be ready to produce some substantial wordcount by this weekend.
