down time
This always happens, and I am slowly learning not to panic [much]. My brain has dried up.

I've got one more major plot point to include in the first chapter, and there I am stuck. My backbrain has apparently not yet finished cogitating on that point. As I have a terrible cold, I'm giving myself a brief pass for now, while I tag pages in my research reading and read some other stuff to give my brain a rest.

Saturday morning, I start writing again regardless, even if it's just scene-setting at some later point in the book. I have quite a bit of that to do, in an 100,000 word novel, and can't lie around like a diva, waiting for the words to filter into my receptive brain.
