getting the words on the page
I finally got myself settled and writing last night, then decided this scene was boring. So I had a character do something unexpected. It was unexpected for me, too, so I had to figure it out as I went along. I usually feel, in these situations, like I'm sketching in the outlines of a scene. I'll go back to it later and make sure all of it's interesting and that it works like a real scene, i.e., doing several things at once. |
